Renovation at Snickaren

Most of the apartments at Snickaren are currently being renovated. The bathrooms are being refurbished, and at the same time, certain improvements are being made to the kitchens and to enhance electrical safety. The renovation focuses on sustainability and reuse. Items that are still in good condition are refurbished and reinstalled, while others are replaced with new ones as needed. The work is scheduled to take place from August 2026 through the winter of 2026.

The following measures are being implemented in all apartments at Snickaren:

Shower Room

• New floor mat
• New fully tiled walls
• New mirror cabinet with lighting and a 220-volt electrical outlet.
• The toilet, sink, washing machine (if any), and shower stall will be reinstalled or replaced with new ones as needed. The radiators and doors will be painted and reinstalled or replaced as needed.

Kitchen

• New lighting on the ceiling and by the sink
• Moisture protection is installed in the sink cabinet
• Stove Circuit Switch, Pre-wired for 3-Phase Power

Electrical Safety and Water

• Replacement of the electrical panel and installation of a ground fault circuit interrupter
• All electrical outlets are grounded
• Individual metering and billing for hot and cold water is being introduced

Eligible Actions

Some options are optional. The tenant can choose the following optional extras:

• Towel warmer (48 SEK per month)
• Kitchen package (90–370 SEK per month, depending on the package and the size of the apartment).

Tenants can continue to live there while the work is being done

Tenants can continue to live in their apartments throughout the renovation. The work in each apartment is expected to take about 15 workdays.

Good to know:

• In the meantime, there is a trailer with a restroom and shower in the courtyard. There is also a restroom in the basement.
• There may be noise, service disruptions, and brief water outages.

Rent Increase After Completion of Work

According to an agreement with the Tenants’ Association, these measures will result in a rent increase of 175 SEK per month. This amount covers the renovation of the shower room and kitchen, as well as electrical safety measures. In connection with the introduction of individual metering and billing for hot and cold water, the base rent will be reduced by an amount corresponding to normal consumption based on current levels.

Compensation

Compensation for disruptions and reduced use of the apartment will be paid at 50% of the base rent the month after the work is completed. The compensation also covers electricity usage and additional cleaning services beyond the contractor’s final cleaning.
