In the Tenant Guide under Waste, Environment, and Climate , we’ve compiled tips on how to save energy and water and improve the indoor environment in your home, while also helping to reduce your impact on the climate. We also offer advice on how to clean in a more climate-friendly way, travel more sustainably, and much more.
It's not just up to you to make a difference
In addition to offering tips on how you can live in a more climate-smart way, we at Skövdebostäder are taking several steps ourselves to be more resource-efficient. There are many positive initiatives underway within the company, and here we’ve listed a few examples that contribute to resource efficiency and a reduced climate impact.
- We set requirements for reuse in our procurement processes.
- We are in discussions with the City of Skövde about sharing and participating in their Furniture Library so that we can reuse primarily office furniture.
- Through our research project in collaboration with RISE—for which we received an exemption from the Ministry of Infrastructure allowing us to rent out company cars outside of working hours—we are sharing two of our Nissa Leafs at Jupiter. The cars have been rented out to tenants about 60 times so far.
What should Skövdebostäder do going forward?
To take our resource efficiency efforts to the next level, we need, among other things, to further systematize reuse. We will also develop concrete actions to achieve the goals of our Sustainability Strategy, which are:
- By 2030, Skövdebostäder aims to have increased the proportion of recycled or reused materials in its purchases by 20 percent (using 2020 as the base year).
- By 2030, we aim to have increased plastic recycling by at least 20 percent (using 2020 as the base year).
- By 2030, priority construction products will be part of a circular system
- By 2030, Skövdebostäder aims to reduce its drinking water consumption by 20 percent (using 2020 as the base year)
