Käpplunda park a cozy residential area with lovely views of Billingssluttningen the city. Nature is right around the corner, the city center is within easy walking distance, and most amenities are nearby. Small and large grocery stores, bus stops, a health center, a pharmacy, dental care, restaurants, and more are all nearby.
Käpplunda park of a total of 206 apartments spread across twelve buildings ranging in height from two to eight stories. The buildings are grouped around a shared park that opens up to a green space and the sun to the south.
To the north and east, the point blocks shield the area, and to the west, a fan of four-family houses does the same. The two lower floors of the point blocks are connected by illuminated portals that open up the area to the surrounding environment, while at the same time closing off the park environment from north winds, surrounding roads, and traffic from the health center.
The four-family houses open up views of Billingen, let the evening sun into the park, and provide opportunities for balconies and patios in good weather. Together, the houses create a generous park space that neither encloses nor excludes.
Three granite sculptures—“Secrets” (black Labrador granite from Norway), “Together” (gray Bohus granite from Evja), and “Sun” (red granite from Tranås)—make up the sculpture group known as “Secrets Along the Way.” There used to be a small path called the “Path of Love” in the village of Käpplunda. The path passed through what is now Käpplunda park it served as the starting point and inspiration for the work.
