Since the inspection was conducted while the outgoing tenant was still living there, some defects may not have been detected. If anything in the apartment is damaged and it is not noted on the inspection report, it is important that you contact the property manager as soon as possible—within eight days of the start date of your lease. Damage not listed on the inspection report when you move in is considered to have occurred while you were living in the apartment if you did not report it, and you may then be responsible for the cost of repairing it when you move out.
