The exact percentage increase for each apartment will be communicated to each tenant. The information also includes an example of the average increase in kronor that applies to the entire portfolio. This means that some tenants will see a higher increase in kronor, while others will see a lower one. Even if you have a smaller apartment, the increase may be higher, in kronor, than the average example. The exact rent increase for each apartment is shown on your rent statement, which you can view on My Pages, for example.
That's why we're raising the rent
Ahead of this year’s negotiations, the Swedish Tenants’ Association, the Swedish Property Owners’ Association, and the Swedish Public Housing Association have agreed on a number of parameters that will influence the rent negotiations. These include costs related to utilities such as electricity, water, and waste disposal, as well as operating and maintenance expenses and interest rates; GDP and inflation also play a role. The agreement takes into account trends over the past three years rather than just the upcoming cost increases a property owner will face. By looking at several years, the average increase is lower than it would have been if we had only looked ahead.
Cost savings and efficiency improvements are limiting the increase
In addition, we are constantly implementing cost-saving measures and efficiency improvements to keep expenses down. Thanks to this, and the company’s strong and stable financial foundation—which has been built up over many years—the rent increase for 2023 will also be limited.
