Charging electric bikes
If you have an electric bike, you'll need to charge it regularly. You can do that in your own apartment. If you rent a garage with an electrical outlet, you can also charge your electric bike there.
Charging permobiles
At our senior living facilities— Fältspaten, Mossagården, Norra Aspövägen 2 Gamla skolan there are designated areas for charging and storing mobility scooters. The same applies to our student housing at Kurortsvägen 10. Contact your resident manager or building manager for information about the designated area.
If you need to charge and store your mobility scooter in any of our other residential areas, please contact Skövde Municipality's housing adaptation service. You also have the option of charging and storing your mobility scooter in your apartment, or renting a garage with a wall socket.
Tips on How to Charge Batteries Safely
- Do not charge your device in hallways, stairwells, or other escape routes, as this may make it difficult to evacuate in the event of a fire.
- Always use the correct, CE-marked charger—preferably the one that came with the product. Avoid cheap knockoffs.
- Charge the battery on a hard, flat, and non-flammable surface, such as the floor or a table—never in bed or on the couch.
- Charge your devices when you're awake and at home. Avoid charging batteries at night or when no one is home.
- Keep the battery away from flammable materials such as clothing, curtains, and furniture while it is charging.
- Be on the lookout for damage. Do not use batteries or chargers that are damaged, smell like they're burning, get abnormally hot, or make strange noises.
- Unplug the charger when charging is complete, and do not leave the battery plugged in unnecessarily.
- Store batteries in a cool, dry, and safe place, protected from heat, impact, and direct sunlight.
