Smoke-Free Homes

We have a number of smoke-free buildings. This means that smoking is not permitted in or around the buildings—but it is permitted in certain designated areas within the complex. The goal is to create a sustainable and pleasant living environment for all tenants.

Currently, the following buildings are smoke-free: Kurorten 10, Bostället, Timmergränd Tallyckan Stöpen. 

Where is smoking allowed?

Most areas have designated smoking areas that are clearly marked. Smoking is prohibited everywhere else. For example, you are not allowed to smoke inside the building, at the entrances, or on your balcony or patio.

I'm a smoker. Does that mean I can't rent an apartment?

Yes, absolutely! As long as you only smoke in the designated areas, you're welcome to rent an apartment.

What happens if someone violates the ban?

In that case, we’ll handle the matter the same way we handleother noise complaints.If your neighbor violates the ban and causes a disturbance by smoking,you should contact your building manager. We’ll contact the person causing the disturbance, and we’ll also document the disturbances. Repeated disturbances can result in eviction. In such cases, the Rent Tribunal will make the final decision.Read more about disturbance cases here.

Why should it be smoke-free?

Part of it is aboutour tenants’ well-being. We often receive complaints about neighbors who smoke. In our smoke-free buildings, smokers can still smoke in the designated areas on the property, but as a neighbor, you don’t have to be exposed to secondhand smoke if you don’t want to.

We also want to promote health and sustainability. Cigarette butts on the ground are bad for the environment, and by designating clear smoking areas with ashtrays, we hope to reduce littering.
