Patio
Your patio should be a pleasant space for you, but it’s also part of the overall experience of the courtyard. By keeping your patio neat and well-maintained, you contribute to the general well-being of your neighborhood.
Responsibilities for the patio include:
- Mow the lawn.
- Clear out planting beds and paved areas.
- Handle waste management.
- Sand and shovel when necessary.
- Remove garden waste and leaves.
- Caring for plants and flowers.
- Trim bushes and hedges.
Shrubs and hedges between properties are maintained jointly and in consultation between you and your neighbor. In some areas, you are also responsible for maintaining any shrubs and hedges that border common green spaces.
If you're unsure about what belongs to your property and what is your responsibility, we'd be happy to help by showing you on a property map.
Plant the Right Plants
Think about what you're planting; for example, shrubs shouldn't grow too large or produce too many root suckers, which can cause problems.
Change the layout of the patio
If you want to change the layout of your patio or carry out construction work, you must obtain approval from Skövdebostäder. This applies, for example, if you want to:
- Putting up a fence
- Cut down a tree
- Building a wooden deck or something similar
- Carrying out construction work or installing permanent fixtures that require anchoring to a facade or similar structure. In such cases, written approval is required.
Reset When You Move
You are responsible for maintaining the patio until the date your lease expires. On the day your lease ends, your patio must be restored to its original condition. Pallet planters and any plantings you have arranged yourself must be removed, unless otherwise agreed upon with the new tenant or with us.
Inspection
Our staff inspects the patio on an ongoing basis, as well as when the lease is renewed. If the patio is not kept in good condition, we reserve the right to make the necessary repairs. You will then be responsible for paying the cost of the work.
Balcony
Whether you have a balcony with or without a glass enclosure, it’s important to take care of it so that it looks neat and inviting. You’re welcome to plant flowers or other plants on the balcony, but be sure to plant them in pots or balcony planters. The balcony planters must be placed on the inside of the railing.
Glazing
In some of our areas, you can order glazing for your balcony or patio. This will result in a standard upgrade. Here you'll find forms for ordering a standard upgrade
In several of our complexes , the glazing features a frameless design. This means that the joints are not completely airtight and may therefore allow some drafts and precipitation to enter the patio or balcony.
Privacy Protection
If you wish to install privacy screens, awnings, or similar items on your patio or balcony, you must first consult with your neighborhood manager or security manager. In some of our areas, there are specific rules regarding the choice of fabric color.
